Connecting with your own rhythm of movement and breath is the foundation for a healthy, stable presence in daily life.
Shuchita has over 20 years of experience as a physiotherapist treating people with chronic pain and teaching yoga and somayog.
Over the course of many years she has developed her own approach to retraining and uses a combination of
- somatic movement
- Fascia and triggerpoint release
- Yoga and flexibility
- Functional strength training
Simple and accessible movements allow you to unravel your particular holding and releasing mechanisms. Strength and flexibility is introduced gradually and adjusted to your particular needs. Fascia and triggerpoint release techniques are utilized to address deep seated tension. Through this approach we seek to move beyond your present level of movement and into your full capacity to live a healthy, pain-free life.
Nina is a gifted healer and therapist. She is the first person to really understand the nuances of my body’s unique structural and compensational mechanisms. Along with her excellent technical skills, Nina possesses an extraordinary and holistic vision of the subtler influences behind physical and mechanical problems. With an almost other-worldly insight and deep compassion, she makes the journey towards healing and alignment one of lightness and ease.”
I have been a yoga teacher for the past twenty five years, and a few years ago I developed some serious disc problems and flaring up of old injuries, which were extremely debilitating and painful. I had the great fortune of having Shuchita work with me on my back. Under her excellent care I am now pain free and able to continue my challenging yoga practice. Shuchita incorporates physiotherapy with a profound holistic approach and the result is remarkable. She is a lovely person who brings true healing to whomever is under her care. I highly recommend her.
Illuma-Yoga is a wonderful style of yoga in which apparently subtle movements effect an enormous release due to correction of seemingly invisible mis-alignments and imbalances. Shuchita has a profound intuition and knowledge of the body and its movements and how to restore its balance and freedom.

Back pain can be highly debilitating. After decades of treating patients with chronic pain, Shuchita now offers a series of workshops introducing key principles for recovery.
Reawaken the Spine – 3 workshops
A healthy spine is the foundation for freedom of movement in all adjacent joints. Lack of feeling (somatic amnesia) and unbalanced use of muscles are often the underlying cause of back problems.
- Revitalising the Spine (2 hours)– simple self-assesment and revitalising of areas of «somatic amnesia»
- Essential Back Strength (2 hours) – Key exercises that have proven particularly powerful in retraining a delicate back to a strong, healthy spine.
- Release Techniques (1 ½ hours) – Self-help release series using foam rollers and balls.
Awakening to the freedom of movement in your hips and spine – 2 ½ hours
Tight hips and asymmetrical use of muscles affect basic postural alignment and recovery from ongoing pain in hips, back and neck.
This workshop introduces:
- Hip opening exercises and release techniques to address more deep-seated tension in the hips and back.
- Foot exercises to reawaken one’s connection with the ground and set a balanced foundation to stand on
- Alignment exercises to regain symmetry and healthy strength distribution between the back and legs.
